Scenario/Solution

1.     For the light-on bed, we realized that having a light indicator will show us where our bed is, however anything else could serve the same purpose. Eg, a handphone, or a table lamp. It is therefore not so usable as an idea.

2.     For the fridge, as the arduino still has to be manually programmed, we found that it will not be easy for the user to key in a set amount of stored, new food in the fridge after every new “fridge update”. It would be tedious and tiresome. After consulting with Mr Andrew, we also learned more about human behaviour, and even if the light showed that the fridge had not been updated, maybe people would still naturally gravitate to opening up the fridge. This is an interesting learning and we have more to research and work on this idea. But for now, we dropped it because it would involve much more components like gravity/weight sensors and so on if we were to really develop this idea into a usable product.

3.     We decided on this idea because it was feasible and it does solve the problem. It works 2 way because not only does it allow users OUTSIDE the door to know how the user inside is feeling, it allows the user INSIDE to express himself in the most polite and discreet way.
